Morocco
A bridge market between Africa and Europe, with strong industrial and outsourcing ties.
Morocco has about 37 million people and an economy built on automotive manufacturing, phosphate exports, tourism, and a growing outsourcing sector serving French and Spanish-speaking Europe. Casablanca is the commercial hub, with Rabat as the seat of government and Tangier anchoring industrial free zones.
Broadband and mobile infrastructure are among the more developed in North Africa, supported by heavy investment from Maroc Telecom and competitors. Digital government services have expanded steadily, though adoption outside major cities is slower than the infrastructure alone would suggest.
Automotive manufacturing, one of Morocco's largest export sectors, is beginning to adopt predictive maintenance and quality control AI. French-language business process outsourcing is a major employer and a natural fit for AI-assisted customer service tools.
Law No. 09-08 governs the protection of individuals with regard to processing of personal data, enforced by the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel). It predates the more recent wave of African data laws but is actively applied, particularly for cross-border data flows tied to European client relationships.
Kwish's entry point is manufacturing and BPO operators in the Casablanca-Tangier corridor who need AI systems that satisfy both Moroccan CNDP rules and the GDPR expectations of their European clients.
